A new programme of FREE workshops and seminars, inclusive of lunch, will be taking place this autumn. These events are specifically designed for museum colleagues who are currently planning, developing or delivering educational and lifelong learning services for museums, galleries or historic houses within the West Midlands. The Programme is funded by the ‘Sharing Benefits in Learning across the Region’ project through Renaissance West Midlands
Footsteps of Giants – A Guinness World Record

The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) has unveiled a plan to save up to £20million a year, creating major opportunities for significant reinvestment in improving library services to customers. Better Stock, Better Libraries outlines a national library purchasing model. The new procurement arrangements, which maintain local accountability for stock selection, would mean better availability and more efficient management of stock, more flexibility to meet local needs and reduced unit costs of stock.

Visit Stunning New Public Library Buildings in France and Germany

A week long study tour looking at the role of design in new library buildings in France and Germany is taking off on 22nd October to 29th, rearranged from July. The organisers are CILIP South East Branch and CILIP in London and the French and German Cultural Institutes in London, the EUROLIS Group.
